PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Members & Supporters:
This year of service to you has been an honor, and I look forward to 2004, which will mark Women in Focus(TM) FORUM's Fifth Anniversary. I'm prepared to continue taking the time and celebrating the achievements of valuable people, such as you. Congratulations to all of you who have invested in yourselves and others throughout the year, thus raised the bar to engage in and experience success! Thank you to our strategic partners, supporters, believers and donors this year and prior, who have allowed us to do what we've done in the California community for over four years now. Applauds go out to our families, because without their support we could not be as strong and effective as we are — home is where the heart is! It is a time to give thanks to God, because it is He that keeps the wheel of wisdom, prosperity, gratitude and community spinning together for the greater good of us all. Continued success to you all in all facets of your lives. It is my pleasure to avail myself, on behalf of the Women in Focus(TM) FORUM Network, and be of assistance or a resource to you, so please do not think twice before calling.

Isabel Seward

Young. Talented. Inspirational. An outstanding young woman, who after holding a 3.5 GPA throughout high school is currently studying at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. So, how did Isabel get to Washington Lee, and what prompted them to give her a full scholarship rider? More than six years of consistent community service and academic excellence. Other elements -- leadership, service, commitment, and achievement. But it takes more than great works and excellent grades, and she has that too -- a firm foundation and positive attitude about herself, other people and life! Like any other teen, Isabel had her challenges in life, and evolved into the highly motivated young lady she is today. The bottom line is that she decided to stop, look around, explore and make something awesome of the life that has been given to her. Isabel recalls, "I wanted to start living and doing what was best for me, not just the "right now," or to "fit in" -- without using good judgement. I was tired, and finally submited to being the person my parents had always told me I could be." Her advice to teens today: "Take the time and find enough reasons to know that God is working as hard as He can to give you what you need to succeed. Stay in school and sieze the opportunities there. Value every single day of your life. Live it with unspeakable love for those you love, like and even the ones you think you don't like."
